WANA (Jan 30) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha today, discussing a range of regional and bilateral issues.

 

Talks focused on strengthening Iran-Qatar relations and addressing key regional developments, including the situation in Palestine following the ceasefire agreement, Lebanon’s political landscape after the election of its president and prime minister, and repeated ceasefire violations by Israel.

 

The two sides also discussed developments in Syria, reaffirming their commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity.

 

Araghchi praised Qatar’s constructive role in facilitating the Gaza ceasefire and halting genocide, emphasizing the need to ensure its implementation given Israel’s history of violations. He reiterated Iran’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Qatar across various sectors.

 

Qatar’s Prime Minister, in turn, highlighted his country’s strong interest in deepening ties with Iran and acknowledged Tehran’s crucial role in promoting regional peace and stability.

 

Both sides agreed to continue close consultations on regional issues.
